Blue Pyrenees — then called Chateau Remy — was established in Western Victoria during the early 1960s by the French company Remy Martin. Where it's known for the most famous and expensive Cognac, Louis XIII was committed to discovering the wine potential of the world’s cool climate wine regions. Subsequently, it became the force behind Champagne Houses Krug and Charles Heidsieck. Remy Martin came across Victoria’s Pyrenees region in the early 1960s and discovered its potential to inherit and sustain for generations to come.
Soils similar to those of Bordeaux; ample amounts of sunshine but its warmth moderated by altitude and southerly ocean winds all combined to convince Remy Martin to invest heavily in this region of Australia. Their judgement was indeed an excellent choice, with the winegrape growing conditions being warm enough to give concentration and power to the wines, yet cool enough to retain vibrancy and elegance, resulting in remarkable unique wines from the traditional French grape varieties. In 1963, Blue Pyrenees Estate became the second vineyard to re-establish in Victoria, after all, vineyards disappeared earlier in the 1900s.
From 1963 until today, Blue Pyrenees Estate is one of the largest wineries in Victoria with approx. 150 hectares of premium grape vineyard with average 40 years old and it is also the best Victoria winery for producing “Classic Methode Traditionnelle” sparkling wine.
• Three estate bottling lines (one of best for sparkling wine bottling)
• Offer from entry-level to a premium price point.
• Australia wine critic “James Halliday” rates Blue Pyrenees Estate as a Red Five-Star Winery. More than 10 wines have been ranked over 90 points by James Halliday in 2021. With 8 ranked by the Asia Wine Challenge
• Winestate magazine have rated Richardson Reserve Shiraz from Blue Pyrenees Estates second-best shiraz in Australia under Penfold Grange in 2019.

Xavier Goodridge crafts idiosyncratic expressions of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay through his Estate range, grown on his three hectares organically farmed vineyard in Gippsland’s Maffra, in cold climate Victoria.
Xavier Goodridge’s Estate range winemaking style supports his philosophy of letting the vineyards work shine through in the finished wine. For him, winemaking is the ‘easy part’, as he believes that the foundation for great wines is laid in the vineyard itself. His approach revolves around minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to express their natural characteristics without manipulation. Xavier’s ‘light touch’ on wines involves the wines fermenting spontaneously with no fining, filtration or additions except for small amounts of sulphur. Wines are usually raised in large-format old French oak, which allows them to mature gently and gracefully. This choice reflects his preference for a more restrained and harmonious integration of the vessel used, allowing the fruit to take centre stage. The result is a collection of wines that captivate the senses with their purity and lively energy.
The PAPA range, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, is a reflection of Xavier’s passion for working with the finest growers he has encountered during many years in the wine industry. Drawing from his extensive experience and connections, he collaborates with some of the best viticulturists across Victoria and South Australia to source the highest quality grapes to craft this range.
