LaGravera, a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture, proudly presents La Pell Espumós 2016, an exceptional sparkling wine that marries history, sustainability, and pure expression.
Described by journalist Ramon Francàs in La Vanguardia as “rare, unrepeatable, and unique,” La Pell Espumós 2016 is a singular wine crafted without a Designation of Origin. It is made from the extremely rare local variety trobat blanc, grown in the legendary El Vinyet vineyard (La Noguera), planted in 1889 and renowned for its historical significance and uniqueness.
This biodynamic sparkling wine was created by the acclaimed winemaker Pilar Salillas, with minimal intervention and maximum respect for nature. Aged for 84 months using the traditional method and with very low levels of sulfites, it delivers a unique sensory experience: bone dry, with delicate notes of apple and almond, and a crisp, elegant mousse.
“La Pell Espumós 2016 is a tribute to our most cherished viticultural heritage and a testament to our commitment to biodynamics and the landscape that defines LaGravera,” says Ariadna, Sales Manager at LaGravera.
Priced at €75.50, this sparkling wine stands as a true enological gem, perfect for wine lovers seeking rare wines and celebrating special moments.
About LaGravera
LaGravera is a unique winery project located in the heart of Lleida, devoted to producing certified organic and biodynamic wines with a strong focus on landscape restoration and biodiversity. The winery is renowned for cultivating vineyards from three different centuries: the 19th, 20th, and 21st, including the historic El Vinyet plot planted in 1889. These vineyards feature ancestral local grape varieties, some of which are endangered, embodying the rich winemaking heritage of the region. The wines are unparalleled in the world for their composition and artisanal style.
LaGravera’s portfolio showcases the diversity and richness of the land, with 35 grape varieties planted on gypsum-rich soils, owing to the winery’s location near Europe’s longest gypsum mountain range. All wines are crafted with minimal intervention, employing spontaneous fermentations using wild yeasts and bacteria. This approach allows the terroir to be fully expressed, imbuing each wine with a distinctive character.
