Ca' del Baio is a family-owned winery located in the heart of the Barbaresco wine region. With over 100 years of history, the winery is now led by the fourth generation of the Grasso family. Our Barbaresco: A Tribute to the Region’s Best Crus

At Ca' del Baio, Barbaresco is at the heart of our production. We believe that this wine embodies the essence of the region, showcasing the elegance, complexity, and aging potential of Nebbiolo. Our Barbaresco wines come from the most renowned Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGAs), and we are particularly proud of our expressions from Asili and Vallegrande.

• Barbaresco Asili: Asili is one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Barbaresco region, known for producing wines with great depth and elegance. The 2022 Barbaresco Asili is a wine of exceptional balance, with rich aromas of ripe fruit, floral notes, and subtle spice. This wine has outstanding aging potential and will continue to evolve beautifully over time.
• Barbaresco Vallegrande: The Vallegrande vineyard produces wines that are both powerful and refined. The 2022 Barbaresco Vallegrande shows an impressive harmony between intense fruit flavors and well-integrated tannins, creating a wine that is full-bodied yet approachable. This wine is a true reflection of Barbaresco’s character, offering both current enjoyment and aging potential.
• Barbaresco Autinbej: Tradition speaks through Autinbej. This wine is a tribute to Giulio Grasso's late father, Ernesto, who used the Piemontese word "Autinbej" to describe the best vineyard exposures. The first harvest of Autinbej was in 2014, a year considered challenging in many parts of Piemonte, but the Barbaresco area enjoyed favorable climatic conditions. Autinbej is a blend of Nebbiolo from the finest, sunniest parts of various crus, and it carries the soul of Barbaresco’s history. With the 2022 vintage, we continue to honor this tradition, crafting a wine with power, elegance, and a unique story behind every bottle.
