Although Walter Glatzer cultivates both red and white wines, one look at our portfolio shows a clear leaning toward red wines with a remarkable hint of freshness. The 33 hectares, family-run estate puts a tremendous priority on responsible and sustainable interactions with nature, opting for fully organic viticulture with certification since 2018. The estate has also been a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingütersince 2017, leading to an increased focus on single-site wines. And yet, Zweigelt, predestined as it is for expressing the nuances of origin, remains the family’s pride and joy, across all tiers of the quality pyramid.
It is the passion for the unique terroir of Eisenberg in southern Burgenland that drives Markus Bach. Grapes from old grapevines with a special character - wild, unspoilt and stubborn - grow on this mountain in a steep location. But it is exactly this mix of character that appeals to us. Combined with the knowledge about the wine-making process, wines are created that are delicious but don't follow a trend.
Blaufränkisch perfected. We're a renowned winery from Austria offering a fine selection of premium wines. Our focus is on red wine, which thrives perfectly in our vineyards in the heart of Burgenland. In particular Blaufränkisch, the grape variety known for its fruitiness, spiciness, and depth, is gaining increasing international popularity. The wines from our Blaufränkisch single vineyards, Ried Hochäcker and Ried Dürrau, as well as Cuvée Impresario and Cuvée Paul Kerschbaum have become indispensable on wine lists in restaurants and hotels all over Austria. We're proud of this development and hope that Kerschbaum wines will soon find their way to the Netherlands. Therefore, we're seeking a strong distribution partner, and we'd be delighted to introduce you to our wines.
We are a small family owned and operated winery from the winegrowing region of Carnuntum in Austria.
Our mission is to create wines that reveal the complex nuances of the vineyards that inspire them.
We use minimal intervention in the cellar and believe that real wine quality is produced in the vineyard, not in the winery.
Driven by that believe each of our vineyards is managed organic and sustainable.
Our traditional winery is one of the oldest in Carnuntum in Göttlesbrunn and has been family-owned for 11 generations since 1638.
We are proud of our natural cultivation, which we started long before the organic boom. For over 30 years, all of the lanes in our vineyards have been completely covered with a natural blanket of herbs and grasses. Sustainability certification and controlled integrated production with no use of insecticides are a matter of course. The animal motifs on the labels - watercolours painted by the winegrower - symbolize this way of life. The cherry-rich Zweigelt, as well as the multi-layered, finesse-rich Burgundy, ripen in the first vineyards of the region and are our flagship wines alongside a wide range of varieties. As a member of the “Österreichische Traditionsweingüter” (Austrian Traditional Wine Estates), we would like to bring these wines to the fore and enjoy tasting them with you.
Something special: All our Wine labels are aqarells by the winemaker Franz Oppelmayer
If you want terroir, like to feel the wine and in it´s taste for its fundamental influences, then you need to give up intervention at all. It´s a matter of trust: in your own potential and in the fact that our nature is strong enough to develop on its own if you let it happen. From this Bernhard OTT is convicted.
In the year 2006 the change over to the biodynamic way of farming began, and the winemaker from wagram adjusted 100% to rhythm of the nature.
Without compromise and fully open to that what each vintage has ready for us
zweigelt, blaufränkisch, chardonnay, pinot
blanc and grüner veltliner. this shows our
origin. they form the basis for wines full of
character and typical of their origin, our
protected designation: carnuntum dac. our red
wines have a very intense color, a dark, cherry-
like fruit, and an elegant tannin dress. we
present our white wines powerful, structured
and always supported by the necessary
freshness.
The Jurtschitsch winery, situated in Langenlois, is one of the most prestigious wineries in Austria which impeccably displays Austrian wine culture at its best.
Alwin and Stefanie Jurtschitsch having been leading the family estate for some time now and have managed to reinterpret premium wine in their own way. For the two of them this means vinifying authentic, complex and terroir-specific wines with cool, elegant stylistics - in other words, permitting the different appellations in Langenlois to express themselves individually. The new parameters, which are in fact based on long-standing traditions form the origin for this: biological farming, healthy soils, minimal interventions in the cellar and specifically experimenting to keep on top of the endless riches hidden away in the wine world.
Located about 40km north from Vienna, at the crossing point of the Wagram, Tullnerfeld and the hills of the Austrian Wine District, lies Niederrußbach, the largest wine community in the Wine District. At the foot of the oilhill, we have been growing wine for 4 generations since 1932. Plenty of sun, gentle cultivation in harmony with the nature, and our dedication to quality are creating a unique experience of pure
As early as 1452, Weingut Stadt Krems emerged from possessions of the Bürgerspitalstiftung. Accordingly, the company is one of the oldest existing wine estates in the world. Today, the winery is owned by the city and thus belongs to the citizens of Krems.
As a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter © (ÖTW) it is in the favor, to cultivate the most important single vineyards of Austria. All 40 hectares of vineyards lie within the city limits.
Historic vineyard sites such as Grillenparz, Lindberg, Schreck, Wachtberg und Weinzierlberg are the ideal soil for great wines. The focus for the grape varieties, as intended for the Kremstal DAC origin, is with Riesling and Grüner Veltliner.
