In 1927, a winery named "Bodega Ribera Duero" was founded in Peñafiel (Valladolid). Eleven visionary men listened to the land, understood its needs, and envisioned a project that, in 1982, would give its name to one of the world’s most renowned wine regions: Ribera del Duero. Renamed Protos, the winery continues to grow and look toward the future. Faithful to its roots yet committed to innovation, Protos opened a new winery in 2008, designed by the esteemed architect Richard Rogers and equipped with cutting-edge technology to produce premium wines. Today, Protos crafts red wines in Ribera del Duero, white wines at its Rueda winery, and rosé wines in the Cigales appellation. Each bottle is a reflection of our heritage and dedication, a journey through our vineyards and the passion of those who care for them.
