Child Company of UNSIGNED
Since the beginning of the Cas’Amaro Project, we have been committed to developing a sustainability policy in all its dimensions environmental, economic, social and human
Over the years, we have managed to create mixed teams of experienced and young winegrowers who combine tradition with modernity and together manage to make the best of the terroir of each wine region where we are located.
Only in this way, using these passionate work teams, among a mix of old vines and others recently installed, are we able to produce the best grapes, from the native varieties of each
region, allowing our winemakers, with the excellence of the raw material, to create the best wines representative of each area.
Every day, we do everything we can to ensure that each of our wines conveys the personality of the vineyard where it was born and of all the men who work there We seek to provide
our winemakers with all the human and technical conditions, and the necessary time, to complete, with the least possible intervention, this centuries old work that began in the
vineyards, to produce the best wines.
We count on our winemakers recognized knowledge, experience and creativity to produce
wines with strong, vibrant and unforgettable flavors that can be an example in each region
By vinifying each portion of the vineyard in its own tank, we give them the possibility to take advantage of the unexpected, and make the best varietal wines or prepare the best blends for the market.
Lisbon was our first vineyard, with 4,5 hectares planted on a small hillside, typical of the region, about 12 km directly from the sea and 40 minutes from the city of Lisbon. The vineyards with national varieties are divided into 4 native white varieties: Sercial, Arinto, Fernão Pires and a little Rabo de Ovelha, and 4 native red varieties: Bastardo, Tinta Miúda, Camarate and Touriga Nacional. In Lisbon, however, a 1.4ha Castelão vineyard was also acquired, in Labrugeira, increasing production capacity to 6ha.
In recent years, small old wine estates have been acquired in several Portuguese regions: Herdade do Monte do Castêlete in Alentejo, Quinta da Fontalta in Dão, Quinta de São Joaquim and Quinta de Navarro in Douro and Quinta do Bustelo in Vinhos Verdes, for new wine and tourism projects.
At the present date, Cas'Amaro has old farms with around 23ha of vineyards in Alentejo, 15ha of vineyards in Dão, 16ha of vineyards in Douro, 6ha of vineyards in Lisbon and 4ha of vineyards in Vinhos Verdes, in a total of 64ha of vines.
