Pinot noir has been called ‘the heartbreak grape’ and the ‘holy grail’. It is said to be fussy and finicky, complicated and capricious. Yet Pinot, maybe more than any other grape, attracts obsessive wine makers and the wine is venerated by drinkers.
This masterclass examines this conundrum – exploring the vinous cultures which grow the grape and make the wine. As we go we will taste wines from the most celebrated regions of the world – from France, New Zealand, the USA and Germany.
